Laura Russell is a former Family Court Judge and an attorney with over 20 years of experience practicing law in Jefferson County. Appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to fill a vacancy as a Family Court Judge in 2023, Laura is running to be elected to that office.

After graduating from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, Laura worked as a prosecutor where she specialized in child support cases, ensuring that families and children have the financial support they need. She has since devoted her career to family law, focusing on divorce and custody proceedings, representing people in domestic violence matters and seeking protection for children who need an attorney to protect their interests.

Laura and her husband Jason live in Louisville with their 15-year-old daughter—and competitive swimmer—Parker.
